While sitting at a movie theater enjoying a date night with my wife, Alec Etheredge of the Shelby County Reporter sent me a text congratulating me for an award that I had won during the 2023 Alabama Press Association's annual conference. Upon further discovery, I realized the text said that I had won the prestigious "Photo of the Year" award.

This is the first time the Shelby County Reporter has won this specific award, and it is an honor to have received recognition.
